I wanted to upgrade my ski tuning setup from just using saw horses, cause my back was killing me. So I grabbed some scrap 2x4s, left over neoprene (remnants from fixing my rocket box, which is another story) and bought some screws and t-nuts from the hardware store to put together this improved bench.
The skis sit much higher, at least 6 inches higher than before, and I added a vise to lock the skis sideways for sharpening the edges. Overall, I’m pleased with the result, except that I need a stop block or some sort of cover for the screw-end of the vise so that it doesn’t damage the ski in the locked position. Currently I’m using wood scraps to keep the screw-end from digging into the ski, but will change it out as find something better.
