Verfest is a small, but enthusiastic randonee race that is on it’s 9th year. Held in multiple locations, Alpental’s Vertfest in mid-February was a fun filled weekend of outdoor classes, gear demos, raffle, music and beer garden.

Highlights at the race, besides finishing, was a challenging course combined with variable weather which made it more technical then years past. The sun, snow, wind combination in a window of an hour favored the prepared. The course also gave advantage to folks taking the risk of boot packing non-boot pack sections which made for faster travel compared to skinning.
