Outdoor recreation is to Vermont what, well, maple syrup is to Vermont.

If Gov. Phil Scott’s Vermont Outdoor Recreation Economic Collaborative, a task force established in an executive order last Thursday, does its job, the state will become an even more welcoming place for recreation-related businesses.
Scott signed the executive order at the Waterbury Center State Park, home of the Waterbury Reservoir, while small children splashed and played in the background. It establishes a 15-person task force to study how to leverage Vermont’s outdoor recreation opportunities to drive economic development.
